Western Sydney International Dragway

Project Description

The Western Sydney International Dragway was constructed to the south of the existing car racing circuit. The main components of the project include a quarter mile timed strip and braking area, spectator seating, a control tower, entrance and ticketing buildings, scrutineering and pit facilities and public car parks.

Geo Image Services was appointed to work on this highly acclaimed project due to the company’s solid reputation in machine-controlled design solutions.


Scope of Works

  • Establish control and boundaries
  • Establish GPS base station
  • Manage all aspects of machine-controlled GPS
  • Survey existing surface
  • Set out of Ferrers Road re-alignment
  • Complete all volume calculations and mass haul diagrams
  • Complete bulk earthworks batter, pavement set out and conformances
  • Perform drainage set out and conformance
  • Set out all buildings, structures, kerbs and electricals
  • Design and produce options for traffic switching
  • Set out and control of drag strip pavement to ensure conformance to tolerances (+\- 2mm)
  • Production of work as executed drawings
